David Production pushes the boundaries of the franchise's established lore, steering the narrative away from street-level brawls and directly into the realm of cosmic horror. The introduction of memory manipulation and alternate universe mechanics turns the already bizarre battles into disorienting, mind-bending affairs. Because of its streaming format, the studio was able to blend traditional 2D animation with heavier CGI elements to render these abstract powers, resulting in uniquely fluid combat. Carrying a solid 8.3 score, this batch of episodes succeeds by raising the stakes astronomically. The threats go far beyond simple physical harm, challenging the characters' sense of identity and reality while they fend off relentless assassins.
